Oliver and Blue

Oliver, a stocky ginger tabby, sits on the bed with slightly tousled fur, and stares out at the camera. He might be grumpy or happy. It’s hard to tell.

Name & age: Oliver, born April 2017

Nicknames: Ollie, Lolly, Lollipop, Munchkin, Bunny Boy, Gremlin

Likes: headbutts and pets, the red dot or reflected light, outdoor time and adventures, being vacuumed or brushed, pizza, potato chips (original is best), oat milk lattes, screaming at the top of his lungs, and knocking things off of high surfaces for attention.

Dislikes: when I am up past my bedtime, being held unless it’s for an adventure, Scout, when you walk into a room holding something in your hand, and when Blue bullies him out of his comfy spot.

Fun fact: Ollie was born hard of hearing! He can hear very loud or very high pitched things only.

Name & age: Blue, born September 2022

Nicknames: Bluebie, Blueberry, Sweet Pea or Spicy Pea depending on his mood, Blupert, and on very rare occasions Blucifer.

Likes: Cuddles, shoulders, the shower, oat lattes, potato chips (most flavours are good, but original really is best), pretty much any human food, also cat food, especially Ollie’s food, the broom, playing with pretty much anything that dangles or moves or makes a sound or doesn’t move but looks like he could move it, outdoor time with Ollie, starting fights with Ollie, and bullying Ollie off of the comfy spot.

Dislikes: being held when in spicy mode

Blue sits on top of his dad’s shoulders outside in the winter. He is alert and staring at something behind the camera - probably a squirrel.

Monkey and Scout

Monkey is the cat that Ollie grew up with as his big brother. He belongs to my best friend and former roommate, and now has a new younger brother in his new home, whom he tolerates. He is the sweetest cheeky gentleman you’ll ever meet, and when I go to their house, it is always Monkey I am most excited to see. Scout arrived as a puppy and very quickly became the biggest baby in the smallest apartment. He is a sweet boy who thinks he is much tinier than he is, and when I go to their house, it is always Scout who is most excited to see me.
